Pittsburgh International Airport

Pittsburgh International Airport’s Dog Therapy Program – PIT PAWS – ( Pups Alleviating Worry and Stress) was created in 2017 to provide passengers a warm nuzzle, a comforting pat on the head and a few minutes of relaxation before flying.

Our program allows passengers to interact with friendly, trained and certified therapy dogs. We understand that traveling can be worrisome and stressful. This program was created to help alleviate some of those issues and enhance the customer experience in the airport.

PIT PAWS teams consist of a dog and a handler walking through the terminals interacting with passengers and providing helpful information, along with a friendly scratch behind the ears or gentle nuzzle of a nose, to those who need a warm sendoff on their travels.
