PITTSBURGH – In anticipation of new international service as well as additional domestic travelers this summer, Pittsburgh International Airport is opening a new common use lounge and Duty Free/Duty Paid shopping area.
The Club lounge, which will be operated by Airport Lounge Development of Dallas, Texas, will be open to all travelers regardless of which airline they are flying or if they are traveling for business or leisure. Travelers may purchase day passes online or at the lounge for $40. No membership is required. The Club will be open from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays, and 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Pittsburgh travelers have been asking for these features – particularly additional places to relax or work before their flights – for several years,” said Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis. “We are pleased to provide these new amenities and update our facilities to better accommodate our new service and growth in passengers."
Similar to common use lounges at airports in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, and Seattle, The Club will open today (June 12) in a temporary location in Concourse C. It will move to a permanent location between Bar Symon and Kidsport this fall.
Also opening on June 12 is a new Duty Free/Duty Paid shopping area to accommodate international passengers on existing flights from Canada, the Caribbean and Paris and new service from Reykjavik and Frankfurt. The hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, except on Mondays when it will remain open until 10 p.m. The Duty Free shop will be located in Concourse C, just past the glass doors on the left.
Items purchased in Duty Free are exempt from the payment of certain local or national taxes, provided that the items are sold to travelers taking them out of the country. Duty Free products vary by jurisdiction. The shop at Pittsburgh International will sell products including fragrances, skin care products, cosmetics, Astor chocolates, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, leather goods, luxury gifts and electronics.
Passengers traveling outbound internationally can show their boarding pass to purchase any item in Duty Free without paying the tax including alcohol and tobacco. The items are placed in a sealed bag and delivered to passengers at their departing gate just prior to boarding. The Duty Free and The Club lounge coincide with the inaugural arrival and departure on WOW air on Friday. Condor begins flights to Frankfurt, Germany on June 23.

Additionally, the Travelex currency exchange in the Airside Terminal will have extended hours and The Strip Market concession will remain open for 24 hours through June for travelers’ convenience.
