CNX SIGNS ON AS TITLE SPONSOR OF ANNUAL FLYBY 5K AND 2-MILE FUN RUN/WALK

PITTSBURGH  – Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. (P3R) and the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) announced today that CNX Resources has signed a two-year contract to serve as the title partner of the FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk at Pittsburgh International Airport. The premiere independent oil and gas exploration and production company joins current event partners P3R, Pittsburgh International Airport, Allegheny County Airport Authority Charitable Foundation, UPMC Health Plan, Fleet Feet Sports Pittsburgh and Grant Oliver Corporation.

“CNX has been a proud partner of the Pittsburgh International Airport since 2014 when development of natural gas at the airport first began,” said Tim Dugan, Chief Operating Officer at CNX. “With deep roots in this region that stretch back over 150 years, we share in the ACAA’s commitment to community engagement, so it made perfect sense to expand upon our partnership to support this annual fundraising event.”

The third annual FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk presented by CNX Resources is scheduled for Saturday, September 22. Participants will have the opportunity to run or walk a one-of-a-kind course that grants special access to a runway at Pittsburgh International Airport. The closed, USATF-certified course will change slightly this year, but the new course will still take participants past aircraft and hangars along taxiways.

All race participants will receive a technical men’s or women’s finishers shirt and beautifully designed finisher medal, as well as enjoy post-race food and entertainment. The family-friendly race will benefit the Allegheny County Airport Authority Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2013 to enhance the experience of military, families and others traveling through Pittsburgh International and Allegheny County Airport.

“Once again, we are pleased to offer our community this exciting opportunity to see and experience our facilities in a way that few people get to,” said Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis. “We thank CNX and all of our partners, including TSA, who make this event possible, and we look forward to seeing runners, walkers and families on the runway again in September.”

Registration is now open for the 2018 FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run presented by CNX Resources. The 5K race will start at 10 a.m. and costs $35, while the 2-Mile Fun Run will start at 10:10 a.m. and costs $20. Kids four and under are free.
