ALLEGIANT ANNOUNCES NONSTOP SERVICE TO DESTIN / FORT WALTON BEACH

PITTSBURGH (Jan. 10, 2017) — Allegiant today announces new nonstop service to Destin / Fort Walton Beach, Florida from Pittsburgh. To celebrate, the company, known for its exceptional travel deals, is offering one-way fares on the new routes for as low as $42.*

“We’re very excited to announce new service to Destin today, adding to our continued growth in Pittsburgh,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “We’re sure that local travelers will enjoy having the opportunity to conveniently get away to the Emerald Coast for less.”

The new seasonal flights begin May 31, 2017. The flights will operate twice weekly between Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). The flights will provide Pittsburgh area travelers with their only nonstop flight option to northwest Florida. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.

The new route to Destin / Fort Walton Beach will be the tenth route served out of Pittsburgh. The company recently announced they will base a second aircraft at Pittsburgh International Airport, which became a base of operations in December of 2015.

“The addition of Destin, Florida makes 10 nonstop destinations for Allegiant from Pittsburgh International Airport, a key part of the airport’s recent air service success,” Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said. “We are happy to see Allegiant continue to grow in Pittsburgh, both through flights and the addition of jobs, as the airline capitalizes on the region’s thriving economy.”

“Allegiant’s continued expansion adds to the growing nonstop service available to leisure markets and marks the 68th nonstop destination available from Pittsburgh International,” Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis said. “Allegiant is an important partner, and the Pittsburgh region has welcomed these new flights since service began here two years ago.”

Allegiant offers a unique option to Pittsburgh travelers with low base fares and savings on rental cars, hotels and activity and attraction tickets. Travelers can book their entire vacation with Allegiant for less.
