KIDS EXPLORE AIRPORT VEHICLES AT OHIO TOWNSHIP EVENT

On Saturday, April 29, representatives from the Field Maintenance Department attended the Ohio Township Touch-A-Truck event. This is our second year attending, and we always have a great time!

Local municipalities and companies bring their equipment and vehicles for the community to see up close. Children are allowed to climb in and explore, and it's always a fun event for families at Ohio Township Community Park.

Airport personnel took three vehicles to the event - a new Tymco Sweeper Truck operated by Driver Ernie Gill, a Peterbuilt Plow Truck operated by driver Jim Priore and a Freightliner tow truck operated by mechanic Glenn Veahman. The vehicles are used in all seasons around the airport and airfield for snow and ice removal, debris removal and other functions that keep the facilities operating safely and efficiently.

The Field Maintenance Department participates in many community events like this throughout the year. Assistant Jennifer Metz says, "We really enjoy being part of the local community. It gives people the opportunity to see what type of equipment we use here at Pittsburgh International Airport, and how safety and service are our number one priorities."
